Alex Vasilevsky, Chief Technology Officer
Alex has been working in the high technology industry for over 25 years and has designed, developed and launched “World-First” products. Alex is a highly-respected expert in server virtualization technology, open source software, digital video architectures, high performance parallel architectures and advanced optimizing compilers.
Alex has led the creation and development of products ranging from an award winning server virtualization platform to the first digital direct-to-disc camcorder to massively parallel computer systems.
Prior to Virtual Computer, Alex was a co-founder and CTO of Virtual Iron, where he defined and created the technology and the direction behind Virtual Iron’s server virtualization platform.
Alex has also held several senior engineering and management roles in leading technology companies, such as Ucentric Systems, Avid Technology and Thinking Machines.
Alex has been featured in numerous publications and has won numerous awards, including the LinuxWorld Best Utility and Grid Computing Solution and three prestigious Gordon Bell Awards for practical application of parallel processing research.
Alex is also the holder of six US and European patents and is a primary inventor on sixteen pending patents.
