NxTop speeds up your ability to provide contractors, consultants and other third parties with a trusted machine so that they can get to work on the tasks they were hired for. With NxTop, there's no need to provide a company-sanctioned laptop or desktop to any third-party that has their own PC.
Challenges of Third Party Access
When contractors, consultants and other third parties need access to your network, resources and machines, you generally run into a number of problems:
- Untrusted machines gaining access to your trusted resources is a major security risk
- Provisioning a company machine can be costly and can often takes days or weeks
- Contractors and consultants need access to task specific software that would not be available on a company machine
NxTop Removes These Obstacles
Virtual Computer's NxTop allows you to provision a trusted machine to any third party in the form of a NxTop:
- The NxTop, while not a physical machine, is a trusted machine with access to the trusted resources you specify. The physical machine does not have that access, protecting you from the security risks posed by an untrusted machine.
- Provisioning a NxTop to a third-party can be done on the fly at no additional cost. You can have the contractor, consultant or an entire third-party team setup within minutes.
- Third parties can switch between the NxTop hosted on their PC and the resources of the physical machine, providing access to all specialized software and other tools and programs.
The NxTop is set to whatever configuration you specify and allows access to required resources while preventing access to other areas of your business. You can even turn off devices to prevent unauthorized copying of data or set a limit as to how long the third-party NxTop is accessible.
Third Party Access With NxTop
Virtual Computer's focus on the end user extends to all third parties who would be using a NxTop that you provide. Adding, using and removing the NxTop that you provide them is painless:
- When booting up, the third party is offered the option of booting to their secure NxTop or normal machine.
- Switching between the physical machine and the NxTop is easy, allowing quick access to any specialized software.
- When the consultant has finished their business with you, simply turn off their NxTop to prevent access. They can uninstall the NxTop using Add/Remove Programs and will be back to using the same machine they have always used with no loss of performance or data.
