Displaying Tasks in NxTop

Task PanelTasks that take more than a moment are processed in the background, freeing NxTop Center for use by the administrator. The Task panel shows current and recent tasks. Each task is listed separately. Move the slider if necessary to see all listed tasks.

Each task entry includes:

  • Name of the task
  • Progress bar and percentage completed
  • Status

Task statuses:

Status Description Progress Bar shows....
Queued The task has not yet started Empty (0% completed)
Running The task is currently being performed Percentage completed
Succeeded The task completed 100% completed
Failed The task has failed and halted Percentage completed when it failed

Most tasks generate an event of either success or failure.

Task Logs

If the detail view says to see the log, the NxTop log is located under Apache Tomcat:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\logs\nxtop.log

A new file is started automatically after the file grows beyond 2 Mb. Log files are numbered in order of creation. The current log file does not have a number.
