Andrew McKay, Senior Vice President of Marketing

Andrew has over 20 years experience in executive, marketing, sales, and engineering positions in the software industry. He has a successful track record of delivering profitable growth and industry thought leadership through a strong ability to translate technology into customer-focused business value.

He joins Virtual Computer from Attivio, the award-winning UIA platform provider, where as a co-founder and senior vice president established the Marketing and Sales departments and defined its go-to-market strategy and product messaging. Prior to Attivio, McKay held executive positions at a number of other startups and public companies, including Fast Search & Transfer (FAST) in a similar role. FAST sold to Microsoft in 2008 for $1.2 billion.

Other positions include CTO of Praedictus Corporation, a real-time process control company; CTO of Leonard's Logic, an ETL provider; senior director of Sales Engineering and Chief Technical Evangelist, Hummingbird Communications; senior architect, Sybase; and senior engineer and co-founder, Deft Software, Inc. He also successfully ran his own independent consulting firm. Leonard's Logic, Deft, and the consulting firm were all sold to larger concerns; McKay was a principal player in each deal.

Andrew specializes in high-performance, real-time search and statistical analysis; user interface analysis and design; and data warehousing, OLAP, business intelligence and relational technologies. He has published numerous articles and whitepapers in all of these fields.
