Dan McCall, President and CEO
As President and CEO of Virtual Computer, Dan has led the company to become the forerunner in intelligent desktop virtualization. Under Dan's leadership the company has launched award-winning products, achieved rapid growth, and built strong partnerships with industry leaders such as Intel and Lenovo. Dan has developed a world-class team at Virtual Computer, recruiting top talent across every functional area.
Prior to joining Virtual Computer, Dan was a co-founder and General Manager at Guardent, a leading managed security services provider. After Guardent’s acquisition by VeriSign in 2004, Dan led strategic planning for a number of internal business units as VeriSign’s Vice President of Corporate Development.
Before Guardent, Dan was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at i-Cube and at Shiva Corporation, where he also ran product management and helped introduce Shiva’s first VPN technology. Dan started his career in 1983 as a software engineer writing compilers for Wang Laboratories and later as an engineering manager at Encore Computer.
Dan is a recipient of the prestigious Ernst and Young 2002 Entrepreneur of the Year award and has been quoted in numerous industry and business publications, including Business Week, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and USA Today. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a degree in Computer Science, Magna cum Laude.
