Jim Stevens

Jim Stevens joined Virtual Computer in April 2010 and brings a diverse background of 20 years in IT sales, management, and business development. Jim’s career spans early stage and public organizations in various executive-level and account management roles. Jim also has significant international business experience from nearly 9 years of living in Europe. Prior to Virtual Computer, Jim was the global channel director at Progress Software. Before Progress, Jim was director of EMEA for Opalis Software. (Opalis was eventually purchased by Microsoft and is now part of System Center.) Jim also held various sales and management positions at Hewlett-Packard, where he started as a corporate business manager responsible for international telecom accounts in Switzerland. He was then named HP Software EMEA alliance director for global systems integrators. In this role Jim coordinated HP’s position in GSI offerings for IT Service Management, Intelligent Networking, and OSS/BSS Service Delivery solutions including Accenture’s largest outsourcing project at the UK National Health Service.

Jim started his career as an account manager at USN Communications based in Chicago and became the USN regional sales manager for Maryland, D.C., and Virginia, where he managed 3 sales teams.   

Jim received his B.A. in psychology and history from the University of Richmond, VA. and completed his MBA studies at the University of Washington and the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He speaks 4 languages;  French, German, Spanish, and English.
