Sales Engineer

Job Description

In this role, based in the Boston or New York vicinity, the candidate will be responsible for pre-sales and post sales activity including but not limited to:  

  • Pipeline qualification
  • PoC definition and installation
  • Driving technical acceptance of key pipeline opportunities
  • Customer/prospect troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Project management of key customer deployments
  • Technical whitepaper and best practice guide documentation 
  • Webinar and seminar presentations and demonstrations 
  • Product requirements definition and engineering feedback process

The candidate will be expected to travel extensively in North America as the role requires, though long term assignments to key customer projects could also limit this requirement.

Desired Skills & Experience

The Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors Degree in a Technology related discipline and/or 5+ years experience in a directly related field such as Desktop Engineering or Technical Consultancy. 

  • Proven track record of working in an enterprise deployment role, with post-sales experience in supporting related products. At least 5 years experience of working with Virtualization product solutions, security, VDI, SBC and infrastructure related virtualization products.
  • In-Depth understanding of Virtualization technology solutions and differences offered by the following vendors:
    • Microsoft (MSVS Enterprise Eco-System & Hyper-V)
    • VMware (ESX, ACE & VDC-OS)
    • Citrix (XenSever, XenApp and XenDesktop Technology)
  • Direct experience with or good understanding of one or more of the following:
    • Microsoft Server Solutions (Windows 2003/2008, Enterprise and SQL)
    • Active Directory, LDAP and PKI Infrastructures
    • Application Virtualization (SVS, ThinAPP, APP-V)
    • Server, PC & Laptop system architecture and builds
    • General Networking (TCP/IP, Basic Routing & Infrastructure Design)
  • Working Knowledge of the following systems:
    • Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Suse)
    • Microsoft Desktop Solutions (Windows XP, Vista & Exposure to Win7)

Desired Skills

  • 5 years Experience with the following technologies:
    o  SQL 2005/2008
    o  vmware ESX/Vsphere
    o  Citrix XenApp
    o  Citrix XenDesktop
    o  Active Directory
    o  Windows Desktop OS (XP and 7)
    o  Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • 2 years of project management 
  • Experience with large scale Desktop Roll outs
  • MCSE, CCEA, CCA, VCP, CCDA Preferred
  • Networking design experience across large WAN's
  • Experience in managing 10k+ desktops
