Virtual Computer and Kaspersky Demonstrate Secure Virtual Desktops at Infosecurity Europe 2011

Westford, Mass. – April 18, 2011 — Virtual Computer, the market leader in distributed desktop virtualization, and Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, will be demonstrating a complete security solution for virtualized laptops and desktops, including protection within the operating system as well as below the operating system in the hypervisor layer. Kaspersky anti-malware solutions for the endpoint working together with Virtual Computer’s NxTop® desktop virtualization suite offer the ability to:

  • Protect virtual machines from malware that may infect a running operating system with the ability to recover or “snap-back” from problems by simply rebooting
  • Safeguard against laptop theft using AES-256 full disk-encryption, remote-kill and time-based expiration and destruction of disks on lost machines
  • Scan incoming and outgoing files and data streams across multiple virtual machines for malicious content, including email, Internet traffic and network communication
  • Set policies to filter or block USBs port to protect corporate data and to guard against threats from devices that may carry malware
  • Rapidly scan environments with Kaspersky’s new antivirus engine, which dramatically increases system scanning speed, optimizes the use of system resources and has minimal impact on other programs
  • Centralize administration for Kaspersky Anti-Virus, enabling installation, configuration and updating of all Kaspersky Lab solutions

The combined solution of Kaspersky and NxTop will be demonstrated by Kaspersky at stand C41, at the Infosecurity Europe show in Earl's Court, London from April 19-21, 2011.

“Since 1997 Kaspersky has been an innovation leader in the security industry.” said Dan McCall, CEO of Virtual Computer, “Their vision for new products in areas such as cloud computing and virtualization is an excellent example of why customers should be turning to Kaspersky to fulfill their security requirements.”
