Hi,

I have just installed Nxtop again on a laptop "Dell Latitude E5510"
And it just feels slow. Doing basic things on Windows, moving windows and even typing in word feels very slow. Is there something wrong with the PV drivers ?

Engine ver. 4.0 RC
Client ver. 4.0.2

Or does the engine need to be 4.0.2 ?

Regards
Trond

It has been my personal experience that each update has been better than the one before it. I would say test it, then install it on the unit in question and see if it clears up the issues reported.

Update to 4.0.4 and you should see a marked improvement.

It's available from the download page (http://www.virtualcomputer.com/support/downloads/4.0). You can burn to a CD or USB stick and upgrade your existing install by booting from it.

@ Simon

I just updated Nxtop 4.0.2 to 4.0.5. So experience on Win 7 VM better than before. Good improvement.

But I still can not get sound work on Win XP VM even I install PV driver. How to fix this?

Wichit

Hi Wichit,

Could you submit a bug report regarding the sound issue and we'll take a look. I'd suggest you do the following:

  • First, shut the VM down and set the debug level to "verbose" -- you can do this from the bug submission control panel
  • Now boot the XP VM and try to play a sound
  • Lastly submit a bug report

Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon,

I can get sound on Win XP VM work now. I attempt to do this

Click on device manager, I did uninstall virtual computer PV audio device under Sound, video device and scan for hardware change then Win XP will install PV driver again, this time audio work as usual.

Thank you for your suggestion.
