BYOPC

The Challenge

The increasing "consumerization" of IT, as well as renewed focus on taking cost out of the PC life cycle, has many organizations considering Bring Your Own PC (BYOPC) programs.

BYOPC is viewed by many as a win/win opportunity that could bring greater satisfaction and flexibility to employees while providing better IT economics to the employer. However, there is great risk that by disrupting the equipment standardization approaches that many IT teams use to keep support costs down and welcoming a heterogeneous collection of PCs into the organization, any financial gains will be offset by increased support costs.

How NxTop Helps

With NxTop, physical hardware is abstracted from the operating system, allowing IT teams to create a single corporate Windows image than can run on a heterogeneous collection of hardware.

Additionally, NxTop enables personal and corporate desktop environments to co-exist as virtual desktops on the same PC, balancing the need for a tightly managed corporate image with end-user flexibility. NxTop even includes a non-destructive dual-boot option, allowing managed virtual desktops to run on the same PC as a native operating system.
