Installing Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite on a NxTop

To use Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite 2.1 on a NxTop, install it by follow these steps:

1. Download Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite from Symantec:

1. Browse to the Symantec site: http://www.symantec.com/business/endpoint-virtualization-suite
2. Select trialware
3. Complete the Symantec trialware agreement and SymAccount
4. Download Software Virtualization Solution 2.1 SP2 MP2
5. Unzip downloaded file SVS_21_SP2_MP2.zip into a shared or mapped location.
6. Open SVS_21_licensekey.txt to display the license key and copy it to the clipboard.

2. On NxTop Center, import the product key:

1. On the NxTop Center browser window, click Overview in the Navigation panel.
2. Click the Add Product Key action.
3. Select Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite from the dropdown list (only entry)
4. Paste the key from 1.f. into the box. The Key will not appear immediately. Press F5 to see the key appear.
5. Click Finish button.

3. On each NxTop base image, copy the Virtualization Agent installer package to the c:\ folder:

1. In NxTop Center, use the Start action to run the NxTop image.
2. Click the Console tab and log into the NxTop.
3. Copy the Virtualization Agent installer package (Software_Virtualization_Agent.msi) from the shared location (see 1e above) to the c:\ folder of the NxTop.
4. Shutdown the NxTop from the (virtual Operating System).

4. Publish the NxTop.

When the NxTop is downloaded by each user, the NxTop Engine installs the Virtualization Agent using the license and the installer package. The NxTop can then run virtualized applications built with the Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite.

The Virtualized Applications are imported into the NxTop Center Software library as vsa files. When assigned to a user, that user’s NxTop Engine downloads the vsa file, and the application is shortly made available to the user on that NxTop.
