Assigning a Virtual Machine
Once a virtual machine (VM) has been published in a deployable version, it is ready to be assigned to one or more users. Once assigned, when the user's NxTop Engine contacts NxTop Center, it downloads any updates to the user’s assigned VMs.
If a VM is assigned to a group, it is assigned to all users in that group. More details on assigning a VM.
Step One
Click on All Virtual Machines in the navigation panel.
Step Two
Find the VM to assign under the Shared or Custom tree.
Click the Modify action.
Step Three
Click on the Groups or Users tab. Each tab lists all Groups or Users.
Step Four
Fill the checkbox for each Group or User to assign the VM. Users or groups already assigned have a check.
- Fill the checkbox in the Current column to assign the Current version of the VM
- Fill the checkbox in the Staged column to assign the staged version of the VM
Step Five
When you finish your changes, click Save.
The latest available published and deployable version of that VM will be sent to the selected users or all members of a selected group.
