Attaching an ISO File to a NxTop

You can attach an ISO file to a NxTop. An ISO file is a software installation kit presented as a file; attaching an ISO file is the equivalent of putting a CD or DVD in a drive. Attaching an ISO file to a NxTop does not by itself run the ISO file and perform the installation. The Attach ISO action allows the administrator to select an ISO file to present to the NxTop.

The NxTop does not have to be running when you attach an ISO file. However, if the ISO includes an autorun file, the NxTop needs to be running with a user logged on to automatically start the autorun file.

The drive used to mount the ISO is configured on the General Configuration tab. The default drive letter is M:

Quick Installation of HIS
To provide a (virtual) mouse for NxTops running in the Console, install Hyper-V Integration Services (HIS) on the NxTop. To simplify this task, NxTop Center offers the ISO for Hyper-V Integration Services.

An attached ISO is listed on the NxTop's Summary tab. You can only attach one ISO file to a NxTop at a time.

Installing software from an ISO file is the same as any installation of software to a NxTop base image. See Adding Applications to a NxTop for more information.
