Virtual Appliance Configuration

Note: This tab only appears if NxTop Center is installed as a Virtual Appliance.

The Virtual Appliance tab allows you to reconfigure NxTop Center if installed as a Virtual Appliance. Generally, these values are taken from the installation, and you only need to review that the Virtual Appliance name is the current VM host name. Use this tab to check the values as part installation (see the NxTop Center Installation Guide 2.0 for details) or for moving the virtual appliance. You should only need to update these fields in the event of moving and reconfiguring the Virtual Appliance.

To update any of the values on the tab, use the following steps:

Step One

navigate to ConfigurationSelect Overview>Nxtop Center>Configuration in the navigation panel and click the Vitual Appliance tab.

Step Two

modify icon imageIf you are reconfiguring (moving) the VM host, click the Modify action.

The values appear in text boxes.

Step Three

Change the fields that you want to change. The fields are described below.

Step Four

When you are done, click Save Save

If you changed any values, click the Activate Applicance action.

Step Five

If installing into a VM or reconfiguring a virtual appliance for use on another Hyper-V server, add the virtual appliance VM to the Hyper-V host's Local Administrators group.

  1. Open a command window on the Hyper-V host server.
  2. Enter net localgroup administrators "domain\appliance$" /add

Enter domain as your domain and appliance as the name of the VM hosting NxTop Center.

This step can also be performed using the Local Users and Groups tool in Server Manager.
