Modifying Computers
Most of the information about a computer cannot be changed from NxTop Center. However, NxTop Center can be used to update the versions of the NxTop Engine used on the computer by modifying the computer.
To be available as selections, updated zipped versions of the NxTop Engine must be added to the Software Library.
Once available in the Software Library, the updated NxTop Engine can be made available:
- to a single computer using the Modify action on that computer
- to multiple computers using the Computers tab under the entry in the Software Library
Modifying a Single Computer
Step One
Click Computers in the navigation panel and select the computer to be changed.
Step Two
Click the Modify action.
Step Three
Click the Software Version tab. The list of NxTop Engine versions available is displayed:
Step Four
Click the checkbox of the version to be loaded on the computer. You can only select one version; selecting a version deselects any previous selection.
When selected, its status becomes Pending.
Step Five
Click Save.
The new version of the NxTop Engine is downloaded by the computer when the NxTop Engine next contacts NxTop Center, and is used on the next reboot. When the download is complete, the user is alerted with a message.
